In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded across the pond with greater prominence when she agreed to star on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart a troubled young woman who has a past of dark who gets involved with an unmarried man called Noah Solloway. The show that also stars Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson was a hit with critics as well as viewers and won Wilson the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama in 2015. I was thrilled to be able to be a character that has both points of view Wilson told British Vogue in the year 2015. Noah thinks of Alison in this confident reckless sexually attractive version of her. In reality, however Alison sees herself as dowdy. The actress said that she believes America has become so moralistic and judging that events on this show are to be shocking. Wilson was the one who quit The Simpsons in 2018, wasn't forthcoming about the reasons. I had a desire to go and it's not my job to explain the reason. Wilson said this in an interview with CBS This Morning conducted in August of 2018. Wilson has recently shifted her focus to films. She starred in the 2016 film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing who lives in the house. She also played the obscure PT Stella character in the 2017 sci-fi romance How to Talk to Girls At Parties. To add to her list of horror films Wilson will be a part in the British film adaptation to The Little Stranger. The supernatural thriller was adapted from the Sarah Waters' novel. Wilson is also executive producing the film.
